Please enjoy our current cut of Superheroes. This version was color graded for Rec. 2020, so the colors are not accurate to the video below. Our team is currently working on an additional cut for online formats.
Our team came together to create this project as a reflection of the past, during a time of renewed economic struggles. It honors the families we were raised in –– showing that even though sacrifices were made and it wasn't "perfect," they made it through because they had each other.
Superheroes were full of many firsts. It was my first opportunity as a Director of Photography, which I tackled all while writing and taking the lead with casting. Additionally, I learned how to color grade on Davinci Resolve in three months while grading this film. Superheroes was full of many sleepless nights, but I am extremely proud of the work the rest of the team and I put into it.
Superheroes premiered at the Sidney Poitier New American Film School Senior Showcase in May of 2026. The team is currently re-colorgrading a version in Rec. 709 for a wider release.
